Yesterday I had one of those moments as mom where I could hardly believe what was said by one of my children. For once it wasn't bad either, in fact it was amazing. I have realized we must have done a few things right. It felt so good and I just have to write it down while it's still fresh in my mind.
Kael is now officially 8 years of age. Wow. How did that happen? He is getting baptized next weekend.
He came into my bedroom yesterday and said this to me, in a very serious, grown up voice.
"Mom, I figured out that life's not that hard. If you just get the hard work done there is so much time to play and have fun. So, I have been doing what you ask me to and it's not that hard."
I was speechless. I just looked at him and had an overwhelming love for him. He has always been the sweetest boy, sensitive, funny, and kind. What he said to me, I didn't figure out until I was married with kids. He is trying so hard to be better, to make the best choice, to be more loving in our family.
We love him more than words could express. We are very excited for his big day next weekend.
