Truth be known

So Jenny and I had a special little moment today...... and by special I mean real. You all know how real life as a mom can be, but you rarely talk about it or blog about it. Blogging is a perfect way to cover up so many little secrets of how we really go about our day.
Jenny had this fabulous idea of challenging all of you bloggers out there to post something real, not perfect, not edited, not something your proud of, but real.

I guess I get to go first....... lucky me. Today I was in the playroom with kids and I glanced down to see something that looked strange and kind of reminded me of, well, what poop looks like. I grabbed a DVD case and flicked it around to see what it was. Well, I really can say this was a first. It was not only poop, it was petrified poop. Yep, I really am a superstar cleaner and managed to not notice that someone at some point pooped upstairs and then left it to dry. Best part of the story is my sister was right there with me and witnessed it all unfolding. WE laughed so hard. She too has found some fun surprises over the years............ how refreshing.
I love those moments. They are what makes life interesting.

I love you Jenny. I know you will still send your kids over.......... for one more week. Then I have to replace you cause your leaving me. It really isn't possible though. You are the real deal. I love that.
Thanks for laughing with me today.

The big 5

I can't believe Karson is 5! What a big boy. He had such a special birthday on Friday and really felt the love from great friends, cousins, and grandma & grandpa! He was a little surprised to find Grandma Joan and Grandpa Mike standing at the door on Thursday night asking if they were too late for the big party. His face was stunned, confused, and priceless. What a lucky boy to have them around for his special day.

Karson asked for a Scooby Doo birthday this year. It really was a great day. It's always so busy to plan it all and make everything perfect. We sure do love this little boy, he always will be our little pistol and completely unpredictable. He is stubborn and smart, and oh so full of charm!

Happy Birthday little man.

Some of the fun food we did - fruit kabobs and puppy chow.

His favorite present was from Beau and Hillary......... 2 pet fish! He named them Daphne and Scooby. Bad news is they both already died. It was a three day present....... were not very good at this stuff (I 'm assuming.)

We love you Karson Scott.

Too much?

I know summer's not here yet but I just couldn't resist the urge. I have NEVER painted my fingernails any color before ........... so this is kind of a bold start. Maybe it would work better if I wasn't wearing a neon green shirt today.
So.............
Is orange hot, or not?
I may just hold off until I have somewhat of a tan, and then put it on my toes instead:)
